Introducing our newest fine motor tool: ARK's Weighted Pencil Set! 

Handwriting is a complex skill that requires several body systems to work together, including visual-motor coordination, fine motor skills, sensory processing, and more. 

Weighted pencils are particularly helpful in the sensory department.  The extra weight provides proprioceptive input to the hand, which can help improve focus, hand awareness, handwriting legibility, and more. 

Each set comes with 3 weights, so you can adjust the weight to your needs.  Use all 3 weights for the heaviest feel, or just one for a lighter-weight feel. 

As an added bonus: it also doubles as a hand fidget!  Twist the weights back and forth on the stem to keep the hands busy and the mind focused.

About us: 22 years ago there were very few tools available specifically for oral motor therapy. So Debbie (a speech-language pathologist and feeding therapist) partnered with her husband John (a mechanical engineer) to invent the solutions that her patients needed.
