♈ ARIES (March 21 – April 19)
Your schedule is going to argue with you. The Sun squares Uranus between your daily work and how you communicate, which usually shows up as a message that reroutes an entire afternoon. Do not fight it. The rerouted version is frequently better and you will resent it anyway.

Astronomers named her after the goddess of discord because she caused one. Say the disruptive thing anyway.

The square lands in your sign, which makes you the person whose day gets rearranged. Something professional shifts and it arrives as an interruption rather than an announcement. You are better at adapting than you give yourself credit for. Today proves it.

♒ AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18)
Whatever you say today will be either very true or very blurry, and you will not know which until tomorrow. Eris runs through your communication sector and Neptune meets her there. Quick introduction: she was discovered in 2005 and caused such a fight among astronomers that Pluto got demoted, which is precisely why they named her after the goddess of discord. Text carefully.

The Moon is in your sign the day after an eclipse landed there, so you are running thinner than usual and today is not the day for anyone else’s emergency. A partner or a family member will produce one. Say no gently and early rather than firmly and late.

💫 Why "What's Your Sign?" Is a Pickup Line

Ninety-six years ago this week, a newspaper editor had a problem.

Princess Margaret was born on 21 August 1930, and the Sunday Express needed something to print about a baby who would not do anything newsworthy for twenty years. So they covered her future instead.

They called the most famous astrologer in Britain. He was busy. His assistant filled in.

24 August 1930. "What the Stars Foretell for the New Princess," by R.H. Naylor. The paper had to explain to readers what a horoscope was, because most had never seen one. Naylor predicted she would lead an "eventful life."

Bold.

It was a smash. Then he predicted a British aircraft would be in danger, the R101 airship went down six weeks later, and the Express gave him Britain's first regular astrology column.

And for seven years he wrote it the hard way: forecasts by birth date, useful only if your birthday landed that week. Roughly two percent of readers at a time.

Then in 1937 he worked out the shortcut. Twelve signs. Twelve paragraphs. Everybody included, every single week.

Every newspaper in Britain copied it within a few years. Then the world did. Including, ninety-six years later, the twelve in this edition.

The signs themselves are ancient. What Naylor built was the format, the version answerable in one word, by anyone, without a birth time or a birthplace or a chart.

Which is exactly why "what's your sign" works on a stranger. He made astrology small enough to fit in a question.
