The old saying is you can’t buy time and I am sure that you, like us here at Aus Geo ADVENTURE, find that true, especially as it relates to finding time to get outdoors. That doesn’t mean the outdoors are totally ‘off limits’, of course, it just means that, sometimes, we have to plan for shorter forays into the wilderness. And as you’d already know, these can be just as much fun as longer outdoor escapes.
Short, sharp day excursions – or if you’re fortunate, a full weekend away – can still provide loads of fun in the outdoors; day hikes, bike rides or a sneaky early-morning paddle can all provide that sense of being free that we all strive for when in the outdoors. These shorter adventures also keep your mood uplifted, getting you through the working week, and encourage you to plan those less frequent longer adventures.
To that end we’ve included a mix of long and short outdoor escapes, with a guide to marine based adventures in Hong Kong, and a list of some of our favourite Aussie day walks. Of course, you will need some gear for any outdoor sojourns, so we’ve included gear reviews of a fantastic new sleeping bag, and a bike rack that is an upgrade to an old favourite of ours.
Add in expert sea kayaking advice from our resident paddling guru, Toby Story, and there’s plenty to motivate you to find more of that elusive time in the outdoors.
Enjoy!
