About Us

Our christening gowns have been cherished by families across generations since 1989. Owner & designer Robbie Salton has always had a love for old-style glamour and lace, inspired by her great aunt who was a silent film actress in Hollywood.

As a child, Robbie loved sewing and designing clothes with her sister, Diane. As adults, Robbie worked in Diane’s clothing company, Jonquil Lingerie, where the sisters reveled in selecting beautiful, fine fabrics and lace details.

When Robbie had children, she began designing children’s clothing using the delicate laces and silks from Diane’s studio. The traditional, yet modern, designs were so beloved that Robbie and her husband, Russ, began a fine children’s wear company - Baby Beau & Belle. After debuting a sample line to the International Kids Fashion Show in NYC in 1989, custom requests for christening gowns began streaming their way.

Previously, our designs were only available in boutiques and stores such as Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. Robbie & Russ founded christeninggowns.com, and we are now pleased to offer our pieces directly to you, shipping worldwide.
