Which is better, short-cuff gloves or gauntlet gloves?

Although not as practical, motorcycle gloves with extended cuffs do have a number of advantages over shorter versions. The longer length of a gauntlet style glove extends beyond your wrist to provide additional protection as well as weatherproofing. Gauntlet gloves are typically worn over the sleeve of your jacket therefore preventing wind from tunneling up your sleeve. Although this might be a slight disadvantage in warmer weather, during cold temperatures, it will certainly help you stay more comfortable. As for the extra protection, most gauntlet gloves have armor or padding on the cuff which helps protect your wrist from impact. Furthermore, the longer cuff will also help with abrasion protection in case your jacket sleeves ride up during a slide.

SO WHICH TYPE OF GLOVES DO WE PERSONALLY PREFER?

Honestly, everyone should have both.Your decision on which to use will come down to what type of ride you're doing that day and in what weather conditions. Personally, we utilize short-cuff gloves on day-to-day commutes and touring. But, when going on more spirited rides on some twisty roads, when heading to a local track or when riding in cold and wet conditions, gauntlet gloves are a must.
