Thank you for the support you have been giving to progressive candidates throughout the country. Because of you our movement won three congressional seats and nearly a dozen down ballot seats last night in New York City, which follows strong primary victories in Ohio, Pennsylvania, California, Montana, New Jersey and Arizona.

The message cannot be clearer: The American people are sick and tired of status quo politics and a corrupt campaign finance system which benefits only the rich and powerful. They want a government that represents all of us and not just a handful of billionaires. And they are supporting candidates who will do just that.

In just a moment, I am going to ask you to make a contribution to Melat Kiros' campaign for Congress in Colorado. Melat is running a strong grassroots campaign against an establishment incumbent. In the last week alone she has faced more than $700,000 in outside spending. In other words, the establishment is doing everything possible to defeat her. But, if she has our financial support in these final days, she can win.

Melat was born in Ethiopia, moved to America as a child and was raised in a working-class immigrant household. She understands that healthcare is a human right, that housing must be affordable and that the billionaires and large corporations should not be allowed to buy our elections.

And she has the courage to stand up for what is right: Melat was fired from her law firm for speaking out in defense of students protesting the genocide in Gaza, and she believes we should not be spending huge amounts of money to fund unconstitutional and illegal wars. As a member of Congress, she will vote to end all military support to the extremist government in Israel.

Let me say a few words as to why this race and your support is so important.

Poll after poll shows that Americans understand that the U.S. is moving in the wrong direction. Today, we have unprecedented income and wealth inequality with the rich getting much richer while working families struggle to survive. We have a corrupt campaign finance system which allows billionaires to buy elections and undermine our democracy. Our health care system is broken and wildly expensive. We have a major housing crisis with 800,000 homeless and millions of families spending half their incomes or more on housing. People are deeply worried about the impact that AI and robotics will have on their lives.

And on and on it goes.

Now more than ever, we need candidates who have the guts to stand up to the Oligarchy and fight to bring meaningful improvement to people's lives. Melat is one of those candidates.

Her primary is in less than one week and, as I mentioned above, she is facing an obscene amount of outside spending -- the kind we have seen in many primaries across the country over the past few months.
