For the record: we rarely mark down our goods. And when we do, it's for a good reason.
Most of what we sell runs on thin margins: the result of working with small makers, in small editions, with exceptional materials. There isn't much room between what it costs us and what we charge you. Larger brands bake discounts into their margins, that way they can discount all year long.
As hard as we try not to, and especially with apparel, we end up with broken runs: a few of this, one of that. Sometimes we overbuy. Or sometimes we just need to make literal room on the shelves of our distribution center for the next release. Either way, discounting is always our last resort.
But alas the good news: a sale like the one we're having right now is a chance for us to get more Best Made out into the world. And that my friends, is always a good thing.
Best,
PB-S
