I’d like to begin today’s newsletter by congratulating Zendaya for winning yet another red carpet. The actor/model/Dancing with the Stars runner-up wowed the world last night at the New York premiere for The Odyssey, where she was dressed as a literal angel. From the feathered wings and sun-kissed makeup to flyaways and heel-less pumps, she was perfection. The dress, from Matières Fécales, was sourced by her longtime stylist Law Roach (who is currently wreaking havoc on Project Runway), and the pair saved the best press tour ensemble for last. Of all her Athena-inspired looks for The Odyssey, this is hands-down the most jaw-dropping. While The Odyssey hits theaters tomorrow (praise Zeus!), you need not fear a drought of Zendaya red carpets. She’s still got Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Dune: Part Three coming later this year. While Zendaya was busy feeding the children with her fashion, ex-Summer House stars Amanda Batula and West Wilson were preparing to feed a child of their own. Sort of. The pair, who will not be a part of the show’s next season, have been the subject of pregnancy rumors as of late, and decided to poke fun at the claim by posting a video stocking up on pickles and ice cream at the grocery store. Pickles and ice cream are two common pregnancy cravings, and even the staunchest Ciara Miller fans have to admit this is low-key funny. In more Summer House news, the official cast of returnees for Season 11 has been announced by Bravo. OGs Kyle Cooke, Lindsay Hubbard, and Carl Radke will return alongside it-girl of the year Ciara Miller. Jesse Solomon will return for his fourth season (and first without West), while KJ Dillard, Bailey Taylor, and Mia Calabrese will also stick around for a second season. Obviously, there will be some newbies to fill out the cast. But before we venture off Bravo news, here’s a quick… Update On My Close Personal Friends — Jax Taylor is dating his ex-wife’s publicistVanderpump Rules/The Valley co-star Jax Taylor continues to make messy choices. His tumultuous on-again/off-again relationship with ex-wife Brittany Cartwright has been well documented over the years. In 2024, the pair finally called it quits, with Brittany filing for divorce, in part because of Jax’s decades-long cocaine addiction. Despite copious amounts of tears, Brittany appears to have navigated the divorce well, landing numerous brand deals along the way, thanks no doubt to her publicist Lori Krebs. Unfortunately, Brittany is now in need of a new publicist, as Jax and Lori are now dating, according to People. Photos of the two cuddling in a pool on a Mexican vacation recently dropped, causing internet furor from Brittany’s fans. I’m not sure if there is a publicist code of ethics, but I have to imagine that dating your client’s ex-husband (also a client) is considered in poor taste. According to People, Brittany is “very upset” about the whole thing. The Couch Report — Anya Taylor-Joy’s new crime thriller, Lucky![]() Apple TV+ has been on a roll lately. From Pluribus and Cape Fear to Margo’s Got Money Troubles and Widow’s Bay, it really has been a strong few months for the streamer. Now they’re back with Lucky, a crime thriller about a con artist, played by Anya Taylor-Joy, who is on the run from the FBI after a massive heist goes wrong. The miniseries, which also stars Annette Bening, Timothy Olyphant, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, and Reese Witherspoon, drops its first two episodes today, with new episodes rolling out weekly for the next month. If you were looking for an excuse to snag an Apple subscription, this is it. Be So For Real — The Odyssey has people doing some crazy stuff![]() Look, I love Christopher Nolan as much as the next guy, but his fans are starting to get a little out-of-control if you ask me. Ahead of The Odyssey’s premiere, Variety spoke with several Nolan fans, whose excitement for the upcoming epic pushed far beyond buying tickets in advance. One fan they spoke to, who bought her tickets over a year ago, is driving three hours to see the film in IMAX 70mm, and purposefully delayed her own pregnancy so she wouldn’t miss seeing the movie in theaters. Because there are so few IMAX screens in the U.S., fans are driving across state lines for sold-out screenings in the middle of the night or early in the morning. In New York, the AMC Lincoln Square IMAX screening at 2 a.m. on Sunday, July 26, over a week after the movie’s opening, is completely sold out. With trailers, that screening won’t end until 5:30 a.m. Thank goodness for those massive sodas they sell. Current Hyperfixation — Erling Haaland’s taxidermied raccoonNorway’s soccer star Erling Haaland may have lost the FIFA World Cup (RIP), but he certainly won the social media battle, gaining 20M+ followers since the start of the World Cup and becoming an overnight global sensation. Even I (who only watched 1.5 World Cup matches, and both against my will) have become a fan of Haaland’s whimsical style and goofy online persona. The world was delighted, therefore, when he exited his plane at an airport in Oslo, carrying a taxidermied raccoon under his arm. Where did he get it? Why did he want it? Questions abounded. Apparently, while in the U.S. for the World Cup, Haaland made a pit stop in Dallas, where he bought the raccoon at Wild Bill’s Western Store. Who needs that gold statue when you’ve got a raccoon drinking a bottle of gin? |
