It’s officially fall TV season, which means that all of our favorite TV shows are back! This week brought the double whammy of both The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City and The Traitors: New Blood premiering. RHOSLC took a break from its usual catfighting (for the most part) to focus on the death of Mary Cosby’s son Robert Jr. Even the fiercest of enemies, Whitney Rose and Lisa Barlow, laid down their weapons to comfort Mary in her hour of need. If the trailer for the full season is to be believed, however, that ceasefire won’t last long.

Meanwhile, over in Scotland, 22 civilians headed into The Traitors castle, where Alan Cumming announced a new recruitment twist, and two players were already sent packing. Also sent packing on Wednesday night was Sarah Jane Nader, who became the second celebrity eliminated from Dancing With the Stars. Saturday Night Live, which returns on September 26, announced two additions to its cast. Grace Reiter and Saidah Belo-Osagie will be heading to 30 Rock to help pad out a roster that has been woefully short on women.

In other news, Millie Bobby Brown, who is 22, has welcomed a second child; Nirvana will be receiving the Video Vanguard award at this year’s VMAs; and Ed Sheeran is now looking for an opening act.

Only hours after the premiere of The Traitors: New Blood, the regular U.S. version of the show announced its full casting lineup. At first glance, it’s the typical mix of reality TV vets, although the cast does include a sizeable contingent of non-reality TV celebs, including Lost’s Dominic Monaghan, Broadway actress Kristin Chenoweth, and SNL vet Casey Wilson. The most exciting names on the list, for me, include the acid-tongued RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Bianca Del Rio, RHOSLC’s Bronwyn Newport, who is sure to deliver fashion at a level Scotland has never seen, and Big Brother legend Taylor Hale. I also can’t wait for the inevitable moment that Craig Conover is banished. While no release date has been announced, it’s safe to assume that the season will air on Peacock in early 2027.

The Couch Report — Line of Fire is coming to NBC

I hope that the Hollingsworth family has a good therapist on retainer, because based on the trailer for Line of Fire, they’re going to need it. NBC’s newest procedural, which premieres on September 21 at 10 p.m. ET, focuses on a law enforcement family unlike any you’ve ever seen. Peter Krause plays the father, a Secret Service agent, while Hope Davis plays the U.S. Marshal mom. Their three kids work for the FBI, the DOJ, and the Secret Service. You’d think with all that firearm training, criminals would know enough to stay away, but instead a killer has the Hollingsworths in their crosshairs. The series is executive produced by Jenna Bush Hager and loosely inspired by her real-life experiences with the Secret Service.

Be So For Real — Travis Kelce lost money in a Ponzi scheme

Thank goodness Travis Kelce has already paid for his Madison Square Garden wedding to Taylor Swift, because his pockets are a bit lighter thanks to a Ponzi scheme. On September 15, federal prosecutors shared a list of over 60 investors who had been defrauded by Siddharth Jawahar for over $25 million. Jawahar will be spending 11 years in prison and has been ordered to pay $31.4 million in restitution, but it’s unclear just when the Kansas City Chiefs tight end will get paid back. In the meantime, he’ll have to ask his billionaire wife if she can loan him a grand or two.

Greta Gerwig’s The Magician’s Nephew gets closer to the big screen every day, and we’re finally at the stage of production where Netflix is releasing images. As part of a first look, Empire Magazine shared not only an image from the film, but also the exciting casting news that Meryl Streep will be voicing the lion, Aslan. The Magician’s Nephew will be the first in a series of films based on C.S. Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia, in which the lion plays a major role. Aslan was voiced by Liam Neeson in the 2005 version of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, so casting Streep is yet another sign that Gerwig’s take on the novels will push the world in exciting new directions. I can’t wait to see who ends up playing Mr. Tumnus.
