Hey friends,
I want to tell you why Texas's 23rd Congressional District matters so much to me.
It's the district next door to the community I call home, and I've spent years traveling through it, meeting people, and listening to what matters most to them.
I care deeply about this district and it’s important to me who represents it in Congress. That’s why I'm proud to support Katy Padilla Stout.
Katy is a mom of four, a former public school teacher, and a family attorney who has spent her life standing up for children and helping families.
And she is running in one of the most important congressional races in the country against Brandon Herrera, a far-right YouTuber who calls himself the “AK Guy” and has built his career around guns, cruelty, and attention-seeking behavior.
This district has already been through one embarrassing representative. Tony Gonzales abandoned his constituents and resigned in disgrace.
Now Republicans are asking the people of TX-23 to replace him with someone who has mocked veteran suicide, made disparaging comments about women, and glorified gun violence for an online audience.
The families and communities of TX-23 deserve someone who will fight for their children, their schools, their safety, and their future. They do not deserve another representative who turns public service into a spectacle.
Katy knows these communities. She understands what families are facing. And she has the experience, compassion, and determination to represent this district with the seriousness it deserves.
But right now, Katy is being outraised. She needs to close the gap.
