Our next opportunity: reaching 440,000 Texans who have recently moved
Is this your brand on Milled? Claim it.
If you move in Texas — across the street, across town — you have to manually re-register to vote. Every single time.
There’s no same day registration, no automatic update. There’s only a confusing system that's counting on you to figure it out yourself.
To fight back against this voter suppression, we've identified 440,000 Texans who have recently moved and are likely Democratic voters — who may not know they need to re-register.
This week, our partners are mailing voter registration forms to 150,000 Texans who have recently moved — 50,000 from out of state, 100,000 from within Texas. We’ll do two more waves of this outreach in July and August, reaching a total of 440,000 likely Democratic voters. But we know that sending a single mailer isn't enough.
So Powered by People is running the chase, meaning we’ll connect with every single one of these Texans.
Our volunteers will text and call every one of these voters — explaining why they need to re-register, walking them through how to complete the form, and tracking their registration all the way through the cycle.
We'll need to raise $66,000 to cover the texts, calls, and contact data needed to reach all of these Texans.
Texas Republicans are counting on voters like these to fall through the cracks. We're going to make sure they don't.
