Last week, for the first time ever, every single member of the Powered by People team came together in one place.
We called it PxPCon 2026 — and we held it in Houston.
Staff from every corner of Texas flew, drove, and took the bus to align on strategy, and sharpen the organizing work we're doing every day across this state.
It was the first time we've ever been able to do that, and it showed us something important: when this team is in the same room, incredible things happen.
And we went to work.
Our team ran a session at the University of Houston-Downtown, meeting young and future voters face to face — walking them through voter registration, answering questions, and personally committing to stay in touch with them until they cast their ballot.
We also gathered with our Houston super-volunteers — the people who show up week after week to make phone calls, send texts, and build the connections that no mailer can replicate. We got to look them in the eye and say thank you.
All of this — the staff convening, the campus organizing, the volunteer activating — is what it will take to reach our goal of mobilizing 100,000 new voters ahead of the midterms in November.
In 2024, we took a voter turnout rate for 18-29 year olds in our program from 37% to 79%.
