Gwyneth Paltrow’s al fresco AI dinner

Happy Monday, and Happy Open Tab day. First and foremost: I’m thrilled to share this year’s Best New Restaurants list! Enjoy it, it was made with love.
In other news, there’s a lot of whispering about Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow, who’s celebrating summer by hosting “a private, off-the-record al fresco dinner at her home in honor of Sam Altman” next weekend, TechCrunch reports. I think it’s fair to read this dinner as a ringing endorsement of Altman’s OpenAI despite its many controversies, and its, uh, “existential” threat to humanity, per the words of the Brookings think tank. Although the event was verified, the invite itself seems to have been made using AI, and Paltrow herself responded to all the online kerfuffle by trying to meme herself out of it. Interesting decision! If you’re attending this dinner, do me a favor and write in. I need to know what’s on the menu.
