Brainrich Kids
A homeschool has no recess bell, no gym class, no playground at 10am. There's you.
Hi there,
3.4 million U.S. kids homeschool now, about 1 in 16, and it's the fastest-growing way to do school in the country (NHERI). Talk to those parents and one pain comes up more than curriculum: energy regulation between lessons. The wiggles at 10am. The poking by 11. The tears before lunch.
One Brainrich mom named the real problem:
"Kids need the big movement throughout the day, not just an hour block at the park. You can't go to the park several times a day."

Save this: the movement-block morning

9:00 — Math, 20 minutes (hardest subject first)

9:20 — Movement block: climb, swing, hang, 10 minutes

9:30 — Reading, 20 minutes

9:50 — Movement block, 10 minutes

10:00 — Writing... and so on, in 20/10 waves until lunch.

The audiobook trick: history and read-alouds play while kids climb. Ears busy, body busy, zero fidget battles. The full framework: The Homeschool Schedule That Actually Works.

The part most families miss: state money can pay for this
18 states now run 21 ESA programs moving roughly $10.6 billion a year in education funds families spend directly (EdChoice, 2026). Arizona's official allowable list includes PE and playground equipment, and Brainrich is an Arizona ESA vendor.
Rules differ by state and approval is never automatic. But if you're in an ESA state and PE equipment is on your allowable list, your recess bell may already be funded. Our state-by-state guide: Homeschool Grants & Funding 2026.
We're all for the park, the yard, and the co-op gym day. The movement blocks between lessons are the gap, and that's what an indoor gym ten steps from the school table solves. Room layout ideas: the step-by-step room setup checklist.
