We are just about 51 hours away to close down our Kickstarter campaign!
These are the most common questions we are getting today.
- Can I switch the color?
This was the question of the day because we do allow you to switch colors indeed.
This allows you to take advantage of an Early Bird special for the Spider V2 Max.
We don't have one in Grey anymore but there are a few left in Orange.
On September 2nd we will be sending out a Survey and you will have an option to make a switch there.
- Why Shipping is so expensive?
We get this question a lot. In a nutshell, our philosophy is to keep prices as low as we can so we can get as many play gyms to as many kids as we can.
We truly believe that each kid should have one for their own benefit but we know that not every parent can afford one.
If we were a typical company, we would highjack prices as high as we can and then would try to lure you in with some ridiculous discounts you couldn't ignore.
This would be nice, except for the fact that those folks that paid the full price would get very upset.
Instead, we keep our prices as low as we can for as long as we can but...
Because of Covid, our costs went up by 60% in just the last few months alone. Plus, the cost of international shipping literally doubled.
That is why everything is going up in price, by the way.
So we had to start to partially charge you for the shipping.
Our play gyms are made from steel, they are heavy and come in several big boxes.
We still cover a major portion of your shipping but that's why you see this price.
We know that you might be used to Free shipping but as you may guess, someone is still paying for it.
Once you get our play gyms, you will have no doubt that these play gyms are very expensive to manufacture. You will see the boxes, the quality and you will understand.
The reason we didn't raise the prices to incorporate the "Free shipping" is that:
- we are still hoping that sometime next year some raw materials prices may normalize and we will reduce or provide much cheaper shipping.
So, instead of raising and lowering prices, we started to add the subsidized shipping fee.
- if you live further away, we subsidize even more of your shipping, taking the bullet ourselves.
Otherwise, we would have to overcharge everyone. And if you live closer to us, you are getting the best deal already.
- How much space do I need?
The footprint of:
- Spider V2 needs a floor space of 4ft x 24" + 2ft on one or both sides for the pull-up bars.
So the length could be up to 8ft (These are rounded measurements for your convenience. Detailed measurements are available on our site)
- Spider V2 Max needs a floor space of:
- 4ft x 6ft for the Fort Configuration or if you have one set of Monkey Bars parallel to each other
- 8ft x 25" for the Long Monkey Bars configuration
Consider adding 3-4ft safety zone in the direction of swinging, of course.
The pull-up bars can be placed on the same side or on the opposite sides. That would add another 2 ft. It doesn't take the floor space, but you still need to reserve some room.
Yes, you can add swings right underneath the Monkey Bars. And yes, you can position your gym close to the wall or even in the corner.
If placed in the corner, you will be missing out on the swinging space, however, so keep that in mind.
- Do you offer the Installment Payments?
Not with the Kickstarter platform but we have those options on our website.

- Can I buy an extra set of Monkey Bars or other Addons?
Yes. Because Kickstarter is not an eCommerce platform, they don't have that flexibility, so we will send you these instructions in the Survey on September 2nd.
We will direct you to brainrichkids.com but we will tell you how to save on shipping.
- When will Kickstarter charge me?
On September 1st or 2nd when the Kickstarter is officially closed.
- Are rewards actually guaranteed?
In our case, Yes! Kickstarter is an interesting platform that is designed to support very early-stage companies and that is why it has a lot of history of not delivering on the promises. That is why Kickstarter makes all those disclaimer statements visible.
- When will you ship?
As soon as we get the answers from your Survey! We need to collect your shipping address at least :-)
Kickstarter doesn't collect it, unfortunately.
Please note, that the latest estimate is that your Curved Ladders with the Classic Swings will arrive a bit later.
Not to worry, you will get the full play gym and by the time you set it up, we will send you these addons.
