The school year is about 1,080 hours long. Most of them happen in a chair.
Hi there,
School starts back this month. Nobody puts this in the welcome packet: the World Health Organization says kids need 60 minutes of real movement a day. Between the bus, the desk, and homework, most kids don't get close.
Brainrich parents see the difference daily:
"Their most used toy by FAR, like by a landslide. They use it every day for hours."

What all that sitting actually does
1. Movement withheld is development withheld. Less gross-motor activity means less input to the vestibular system, the balance sense. During key developmental windows, that can delay motor milestones and weaken postural control (peer-reviewed: PMC10814320).
2. A folded spine stays folded. Desk posture loads a child's spine and shoulders forward for hours. Hanging does the opposite: it decompresses the spine, opens the shoulder girdle, and builds grip. It's a staple of the occupational-therapy playbook, and it's why a simple bar at home does more than you'd think.
3. The gap is the after-school hours. Kids also need muscle- and bone-loading play (climbing, jumping) at least 3 days a week per WHO guidance. School won't supply it. Home has to.

Save this: the 10-Minute After-School Decompression

Run it between backpack drop and homework:

1. 30-second dead hang (spine decompression + grip)

2. 2 minutes of climbing, floor-is-lava rules

3. 2 minutes of swinging (the balance-system reset)

4. 1 minute of rung or monkey-bar traverses

5. Repeat once. Done before the snack is gone.

No equipment yet? A park trip covers it. The pattern is what matters: hang, climb, swing, every single day.

Why is a play gym company counting classroom hours? Because we're parents first. We build steel indoor gyms so hang-climb-swing lives ten feet from the homework table, on the days the park isn't happening. New to this? Start with The Home Play Gym Decision Guide.

P.S. A heads-up, not a countdown timer: our biggest model, the Mega Max V3, already sold out ahead of the school year, and two more models are down to their last few units. Restocks cross the ocean and take months. If a specific model matters to you, check availability now.
