First things first—I turned 40 in December. Hooray! 😉 Naturally, I’ve started taking my skincare a bit more seriously. I also wanted to be more proactive with in-office treatments, so I kicked off the year with a chemical peel in early January, followed by a laser facial just a few weeks ago.

Over the years, I’ve had several BBL and SkinPen treatments, but this time, I decided to try a BBL + Moxi combo at Skin Pharm. I’ve never needed much downtime from BBL or peels, so I felt ready to take it up a notch. I’ve heard a lot about Moxi and Halo—mostly positive—but the reviews on Morpheus have been more mixed and controversial. I’ve always taken a conservative approach, but now I think I’m finally ready to try Halo next.

What I really appreciate about these treatments is how they’ve helped with texture, redness, and early signs of sun damage—things that over-the-counter products just can’t fully address. I’m still layering in my usual skincare (I’ll get into those product updates below!)- but these procedures are like a reset button for my skin.

This body wash has become a staple in my shower. It’s gentle but feels luxe, with a silky gel texture that doesn’t dry out my skin. I love that it’s packed with skin-loving ingredients like Niacinamide and Vitamin C, so it feels like skincare for your body—not just a cleanser. The Eucalyptus scent is spa-like without being overpowering, and there’s a fragrance-free option too if that’s your thing.

2. Nécessaire The Body Vitamin C

I didn’t know I needed a body serum until this one. It goes on like a lightweight gel and sinks in fast—no sticky residue. I’ve been using it on my chest and arms where I have a bit of sun damage, and my skin looks brighter and feels smoother overall. It's a nice way to extend your skincare routine below the neck.

3. Motif Abundance Plumping Cleanser

This cleanser feels like a drink of water for your face. It has a creamy, cushiony texture and doesn’t foam too much, which I like. My skin always feels calm and hydrated afterward, not tight or stripped. I especially reach for it in the mornings or when my skin is feeling a little dry or sensitive.

4. Remedy Skin Healthy Aging Serum

This one feels like a solid "insurance policy" for my skin. It’s lightweight and absorbs quickly, but you can tell it’s doing something. My skin looks a little firmer and more even after a few weeks of use. I like that it doesn’t overwhelm my skin but still feels active—kind of like a daily dose of nutrients.

5. Remedy Skin Moisturizing Rich Cream

If your skin is dry, this cream is a game changer. It’s thick and rich, but not greasy, and it gives my face that dewy, well-moisturized look without feeling heavy. I use it mostly at night or after a more intense treatment when my skin needs extra love. Bonus: it layers beautifully with other products.

6. True Botanicals Chebula Multi-Corrective Eye Patches

These are my go-to when I need a quick eye refresh—especially after a long day or a short night. They feel cooling right out of the pack, and I notice less puffiness and more hydration right away. They’re not miracle workers, but they definitely help me look more awake and pulled together.

7. True Botanicals Renew Chebula Extreme Cream

This cream feels incredibly nourishing without being too rich. It’s one of those moisturizers that makes your skin feel instantly better—softer, smoother, more elastic. I’ve been using it consistently at night and love waking up to plump, calm skin. Plus, the ingredient list is clean and packed with actives.

8. Skin Pharm Youth Serum

This serum is lightweight but mighty. It’s one of those products that just fits seamlessly into your routine—no pilling, no irritation, just smoother, brighter skin over time. I especially love the added peptides and niacinamide, which seem to help with overall skin tone and firmness.

9. Skin Pharm Face Whip

Face Whip is such a good daily moisturizer. The whipped texture is fun but functional—it spreads easily, hydrates without being heavy, and plays nicely with SPF and makeup. It’s been my go-to on days when I want something light but effective.

10. Skin Pharm Recovery Lotion

This is the MVP for post-treatment days. I’ve used it after peels, lasers, and even when my skin is just irritated from weather or over-exfoliation. It calms everything down, adds moisture, and helps speed up healing. Definitely something I like to keep on hand, especially when I’m doing more active treatments.

I have to say, I was genuinely impressed with the entire experience at Skin Pharm. The environment was zen, well-designed, welcoming, and felt more like a chic wellness studio than a typical clinic. Everyone on staff was knowledgeable and kind, which made the whole process—from consultation to post-treatment—feel seamless and supportive.

Another thing I’ve really appreciated is how well the Skin Pharm products have worked for me since the treatment. They recommended a simple, calming routine to support my skin during recovery, and I’ve stuck with it because it’s been that good. Everything feels gentle yet effective—no unnecessary irritation, just nourishment and hydration, which is exactly what you need post-laser.

Also, a quick style note: I wore this cozy Varley half-zip sweater to the appointment, and I’m so glad I did. After a laser treatment, when your skin feels hot and sensitive, the last thing you want is anything tight around your face or neck. This sweater was soft, loose enough to slip on and off easily, and still cute enough for a stop for coffee on the way home. Honestly, it’s one of those pieces I’ll be living in all year long.

Turning 40 has really shifted my perspective—not just about aging, but about how I care for myself overall. Skincare has become less about chasing perfection and more about investing in my well-being, feeling confident, and treating myself with consistency and care. Whether it's making time for a professional treatment, finding products that truly work, or simply carving out a few quiet moments for my evening routine, I’ve come to see skincare as a form of self-respect. It’s not just about what shows up on the surface—it’s about how you feel in your own skin. And that, to me, is always worth prioritizing.
