It's been a while since I wrote you a letter.
A lot of our long-time customers miss this kind of note - as it's something I used to do a lot, but it's been so busy, I've skipped it.
In the last 6 months, Camel City Mill has had major upgrades in the knitting factory. We're now pumping out with 64 machines (up from 28 a year ago, and up from the 1 we started with originally).
We've had growing pains, which you've seen in the form of "out of stock." This is a good problem to have. But along with scaling our knitting operation, we've had to rely on our wool supply chain to keep up.
We moved shipping into another new warehouse (#3).
We're finally in stock on almost everything we have.
We launched military-approved colors.
And we've added at least another 4 jobs to the US economy.
This is just in the mill and warehouse. I can't say what the growth is like on the wool side.
It might seem small.
Only 4 jobs.
But to me, it's monumental.
And it wouldn't be possible without you.
We're a tiny American company.
We started with one machine and our special Ironside Merino yarn.
And from our very first customer, we've had the benefit of word of mouth.
YOU - our customers - have spread the word on our behalf.
And now we're worn by over 180,000 tradesmen every day.
I still can't believe it.
Through it all, we've stayed committed to our 4 core values:
1.) 1% Better
Get better every day. Better socks. Better working conditions. Better variety. Better customer service.
2.) The Work Needs Doing
The world's messy, but someone's gotta step up. Our customers do it daily. And we try to keep up with them.
3.) Honesty
We guarantee our socks for 10 years because we trust our gear and the good people who wear it.
4.) Hard Work is the Reward
End-of-day exhaustion isn't the cost. It's the prize.
So thank you again for being a part of Camel City Mill.
We're proud to be a small piece of bringing American textile manufacturing back.
Keep Building,
William, Co-Founder at Camel City Mill
