The Barista League returns to Joburg! ☕️

Last year, The Barista League: Africa came to Jo'burg and completely changed our expectations of what a barista competition could be. By supplying competitors with the same coffee, the same equipment, and an inclusive platform, the spotlight is placed on the everyday skills, speed, service, and creativity of the baristas themselves.

Today, we're thrilled to announce that next month, The Barista League returns to South Africa and we're coming along for the ride! Read on to learn how to secure your tickets, what you can expect on the night, and much more.

We are proud to be official partners of The Barista League: Africa for 2026. Along with the barista competition itself, expect a high-energy coffee event with an unconventional but fun format.

This year, The Barista League is bringing a brand-new competition format. As an official partner, we’ll be there with a special roast-to-brew experience at the Cape Coffee Beans stand, and you'll find some more of the team at the Rancilio stand. There will also be a roasters' village, interactive stalls from industry leaders, games, and giveaways! Visit the link below to find all the event details.

What to expect

Watch baristas compete, meet local and international coffee people, and demo the latest coffee equipment. Attendees will also get the chance to taste the competition coffee brewed by those who sourced and roasted it. The event will also feature:

• A chance to mingle with coffee enthusiasts
