Hey - - it's Uncle Tommy...
I'll be totally honest, I have not been very productive this week.
I keep sitting down to do other things, and then I end up back in those birthday messages. Would you believe that as of today writing this, there are 1,553 of them?
And I am not rushing through them, man. Every single one of these came from a real person who took a few minutes out of their day to say something kind to an old hippie they've never met. That deserves more than a quick scroll, hey?
Here are a few more that stopped me this week:
88 does not seem as old to me as it once did. I loved your material in my youth and really think your current products are super great. I am experiencing some joint pain relief as a side effect of consuming more than before I retired. But I was consuming it as enjoyment and did not expect healing. Then I remembered an old interview with you where you were extolling the virtues of cannabis for your youthful abilities even at an age most folks consider 'advanced'. Hoping for 88 more for you... and thanks."
"I read every message you send in the voice of 'Chong' from your movies. I can't read them any other way. Thanks for all the laughs through the years and what you are doing now."
"You give hope to the rest of us pot smokers that we might also live a long life."
And then there was this one from Harry, who is 78, and who wrote me a haiku:
"Smoke drifts in sunlight,
Laughter echoes through the years,
Peace grows where you stand."
Harry, man. That's beautiful. I'm putting that one on the wall.
And finally, this one from Chip, which made me laugh out loud:
"I almost know how it feels to be 88... I'll be 85 soon. Things don't work like they used to... but those Cruisin Gummies sure help."
Chip, I hear you, brother. I really do.
These are just a few of the 1,553 you sent in. We're still going through all of them and putting together something special to share with you soon. But I just wanted to say again, thank you.
