Hi -,
Sundays always feel like a reset to me.
Not in the “everything needs to be fixed by Monday” kind of way — but in the quiet way. The kind where you pause, look around, and ask yourself what you actually need before the week begins.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about balance.
In Anishinaabe teachings, balance is not about perfection. It is not about doing everything equally or having every part of life neatly organized. Balance is about paying attention. It is about noticing when something needs more care, more rest, more honesty, or more patience.
I think beauty can be like that too.
Some days, beauty is a full routine. Some days, it is washing your face, drinking water, and letting your skin breathe. Some days, it is putting on one thing that makes you feel more like yourself before you walk out the door.
There is no one right way to show up.
At Cheekbone, we talk a lot about simplicity because I truly believe our routines should support us, not overwhelm us. The goal was never to create more pressure. The goal was to create tools that make life a little easier, a little more intentional, and a little more connected to who we are.
So today, before the week begins, maybe ask yourself:
What needs your attention this week?
Not everything. Just one thing.
That might be rest. It might be movement. It might be a conversation. It might be letting something be good enough.
Balance is not a destination. It is something we return to, again and again.
Wishing you a steady, gentle start to your week.
Miigwech,
Jenn
