The Twelve Xander

Every great work of art – the Mona Lisa, that painting of dogs playing poker – is unique.

But only one can be worn on your wrist: the new, limited edition Twelve Xander, a hand-painted, horological masterpiece that’s literally one in 2.56 quintillion.

Limited to 150 pieces, the Twelve Xander is a collaboration between Christopher Ward and Chris Alexander – AKA The Dial Artist – famed for bringing the energy and colours of street art to horology.

Based on the Twelve X (Ti), Chris spent 900 hours hand-painting (and finishing) eight visible components on 150 individual watches at his studio in Scotland – 1,200 in total. Which means each watch is a genuine one-off.

Visible through both the dial and exhibition case back, the hand-painted chronometer regulated CW-001 movement features twin-barrel architecture and a 120 hour power reserve. All housed within a 12-sided, 41mm titanium case, sculpted in Grade 2 and Grade 5 titanium.

“It’s meant to look chaotic,” says Chris. “It’s meant to look fast. It’s meant to look as if I’ve just taken a paintbrush and splattered paint. I wish it were that easy. Every single part goes through a multi-stage process of priming, airbrushing, hand-painting and hand-finishing.”
