Hi ,

Our NEW Beginner Retinol Gel 0.1% is here and we know that incorporating a new product into your routine can bring up some questions about where to start and how to use. We’ve got answers! Let’s break down our most frequently asked retinol questions:

Where does Beginner Retinol Gel go in my PM routine?
Retinol should be applied after cleansing (and toning or essence - which are optional steps) to dry skin. Let retinol dry down before proceeding with your serums and moisturizer.

How often do I use Beginner Retinol Gel?
If you’re new to retinol, we recommend applying every other night to start, working up to nightly use. The 0.1% strength is ideal for first time retinol users and it’s been clinically tested for sensitive skin making it easy to build up to nightly use without irritation. Consistency is key for retinol to be the most effective.

What SHOULD I use with Beginner Retinol Gel?
Always pair retinol with hydrating and moisturizing products. After applying Beginner Retinol Gel, use Ceramide Barrier Serum to help replenish hydration and support your skin barrier. Follow with Resurrection Polypeptide Cream to lock in moisture and deliver enhanced firming benefits

What should I NOT use with Beginner Retinol Gel?
The only hard and fast rule with Beginner Retinol Gel is to not overdo it with exfoliants. This doesn’t mean you have to stop using them - just move exfoliants to your morning routine.

Can I use this with Vitamin C Glow Serum?
Yes! Beginner Retinol Gel and Vitamin C Glow serum can be used together. If applying in the same routine, Vitamin C should be applied after retinol. You can also use Vitamin C Serum in your AM routine and retinol in the PM if you prefer

Can I use this with Turmeric Illuminating Solution and Probiotic Acne Serum?
When using retinol, you want to move any leave-on acids or exfoliants to your morning routine. In this case, you want to move Postbiotic Acne Serum and Turmeric Illuminating Solution to the AM.

Can I use this with Resurfacing Sleep Mask?
We recommend using one or the other and the choice is up to you! While bakuchiol is considered an alternative to retinol, retinol is a more advanced treatment for preventing fine lines and smoothing skin. Bakuchiol is a gentler option but it won’t provide the same results as retinol.

If you’re ready to try it, you can shop Beginner Retinol Gel, 0.1% here. We know you’re going to love it!
