Beginner's Guide to Pistol Ammo
A lot of beginners have questions about ammo. This is a good guide that can serve as a review for even experienced shooters.
Chris Baker over at Lucky Gunner put together the cleanest walkthrough of a box of ammo I have seen anywhere. Parts of a cartridge, what the caliber name on the box actually tells you, FMJ versus hollow point, bullet weight, and why +P is not the place a new shooter should start.

DOJ Says Lawful Gun Owners Can Carry in Post Offices
For decades the answer to this one was simple. Federal law says no guns in the post office. The Justice Department just said that is not what the law actually says.
An Office of Legal Counsel opinion issued August 12 concluded that self defense qualifies as a lawful purpose under the exception Congress already wrote into the statute, and that the Postal Service cannot enforce its own separate ban against a law abiding person carrying for self defense.
Before you start carrying into your local post office, read the limitations. There are several of them, and an OLC opinion is not a Supreme Court decision.
