Challenge 4 is live — and I think this will be one you remember.

The question today: can your equipment actually do what you think it can?

You've checked your gear, tested your decisions, and answered for what you know. Now you find out what all of it means in the real world — in your own driveway, at a real distance, with your actual light. It's a simple test, and it's the most honest feedback you'll get all week.

Start Challenge 4

One important thing before you begin: this test does not involve a firearm. Leave it holstered or leave it inside. If you want to test your weapon mounted light we recommend at the very least BarrelBloking it, and perhaps better remove the light fromt he gun.

Here's how it works: head to the challenge page, watch the short video, and download the test chart and score sheet. After dark, you'll set the chart up, step back ten yards, and use your light to work through it — scoring yourself as you go. It produces a single number. That number is the point.

You've got two nights to do this — tonight or tomorrow — so if you don't have a printer you have a day to find/borrow one. Most people will be surprised by their result. Write down what you actually see, not what you hoped you'd see. Thursday only works if the number is honest.

This is the last of the four. Finish it and you've earned the Low-Light Readiness badge, plus $5 in store credit — but more importantly, you'll finally have the honest picture the whole week has been building toward.

Behind on any of the others? They're all still on the page, in any order. And if you're not registered for Thursday's live session yet, make sure you do that here.

Train smart,

P.S.
Everything you've done this week — your gear, your decisions, your knowledge, and tonight's number — comes together tomorrow. On Thursday, Dan Brady walks through all of it live and shows you how to fix what the week exposed. It's the payoff. Don't miss it.
