Connolly's bestselling, most emulated Herringbone Coat makes a return this winter in blue grey. Oversized in a loose fit, made from wool and woven in a herringbone pattern, the cloth is made in South Tyrol, by Moessmer, purveyor to the Habsburg Court since 1894. We are thrilled to be working once more with this beautiful cloth, and this season have chosen a herringbone with a fleck of blue to carry you through the coming winter and many more.
Designed by Marc Audibet, the Connolly herringbone coat brings ‘joy to the soul’ as one customer wrote to us. Simon Crompton of Permanent Style described the beauty of this piece where ‘The swing and material is everything... it must have enough body to flow and hang attractively and it must drape: something that is central to womenswear but rarely discussed in menswear.’ The perfect everyday city coat, lined in silk, with large pockets in the front and dark horn Connolly buttons, looks equally good worn with jeans or a suit.
