We've launched Contabo Firewall - included free with every VPS and VDS.
It's the first feature out of Contabo Labs, our new division focused on building tools that make managing your hosting setup faster and more practical. It costs nothing extra and requires no separate installation or iptables configuration - you configure everything directly from the Customer Control Panel.
What It Does
The Firewall runs at the network level, in front of your server. Activate it and all inbound traffic is blocked by default. From there, you define exactly what gets through - by port, protocol, or source IP. Outgoing traffic stays completely unrestricted.
In practice: your web server accepts HTTPS, SSH is locked to your IP, and everything else never reaches your OS. That means fewer open ports and no guesswork about what's exposed.
Who It's For
Setting up server security properly usually means time on iptables or Windows Firewall configuration, and that time adds up. Contabo Firewall handles it at the network level with a simple rule interface that takes minutes to set up.
Managing multiple servers? Apply one firewall across several instances and adjust rules from a single place. That's useful for anyone who'd rather spend time getting real work done than repeating the same security setup on every new instance.
