Hi there,
May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month — and as a proud AAPI-founded brand, it feels like the right moment to pause, look back at the past five years, and say: thank you for being part of this.
Anyday started as a happy accident.
We were originally building a better food storage product — glass with a glass lid and silicone seal. Pretty straightforward, right? But one day, we had an idea: what if we tried cooking raw chicken in the microwave? At that point, I had never microwaved anything from raw before in my life — not even vegetables.
We expected to par-cook it and finish it in the oven. Instead, we pulled out the most tender, juiciest chicken any of us had ever eaten — from a microwave.
That was the a-ha moment. I went down a deep internet rabbit hole and came away with two realizations: people didn't know what microwave cooking could actually do, and the right product to do it with didn't exist yet. Everything out there was flimsy plastic. We set out to fix both problems at once.
Five years later, I'm still a little overwhelmed by the response.
People write in to tell us that the way they cook every day has completely transformed with Anyday in their kitchen. Very few things in life bring me more joy than hearing that — that something we built genuinely made your life easier and more delicious.
And lately, I've been having a lot of pinch-me moments:
We finally launched Anydeli — our line of plastic-free silicone deli containers — after three years of development. We sold out in less than six weeks. (More are on the way, promise.)
Last week, I was so grateful for the opportunity to go on-air at Good Morning America for an AAPI Founders segment and share the Anyday story.
And we've been getting some incredible shout-outs from publications like The Guardian, Bon Appétit, The Kitchn and more — moments that make me and the whole team feel truly proud.
None of this happens without you. So from the bottom of my heart: thank you for coming along on what was, at first, a pretty wild bet that people would fall in love with cooking in the microwave.
They did. You did. And we're just getting started.
