Welcome to CountAbout! You have registered under the email address -

Here are a few tips to help you get started. (To learn more, visit our Help page.)

1. First, if you plan to import data from Quicken or Mint, you should do that first, to avoid duplicating accounts, categories or tags. To import Mint or Quicken data, log into CountAbout and then click "Help" in the upper right corner of any page. Then click the "Knowledge Base" link and refer to the instructions under the section titled "IMPORTING DATA FROM MINT OR QUICKEN".

2. When you first log into CountAbout, you will see several tabs on the left side of the screen. Here’s what each page is for (see our Help page for more details):

Dashboard: This is your home page. Please note that you can toggle the Dashboard to Off or On from the Settings page (top right). The Dashboard provides preset graphs and utilities to help you manage your finances.

Transactions: This is where you will do most of the day-to-day management of your finances. On the Transactions page, you can add new transactions, categorize and approve transactions downloaded from your financial institution, flag transactions to deal with them later, and add or edit rules for categorizing transactions. You can also create and manage "Widgets," tools that offer a simple way to compare your financial activity against what you have budgeted or against your average activity.

Reports: Here, you can look at your financial activity in various ways. For example, you might want to see the balances of all your bank accounts, or see how much money you've spent on specific spending categories, or how much you've paid to a specific person. You can create simple reports or more complex ones.

Recurring: Here, you can create and manage recurring transactions, such as paycheck deposits and mortgage or rent payments.

Budgets: Here, you can create and manage budgets.

Invoices: Run a small business? You can use the CountAbout Invoices feature to generate invoices to your customers and keep track of outstanding balances and apply payments.

3. On the left sidebar below the tabs is your Net Worth and all your Accounts. A list of your banking, credit card, loan, investment, and other accounts. The current balance for each is shown alongside each account title. To add or manage accounts, click the Transactions tab on the left sidebar, and then click the "Manage Accounts" button.

For accounts synced to your bank your will see icons next to your accounts. Hover over the icons to see the status of your synced accounts.
