A THOUGHT EXPERIMENT
Technically the color of this beanie is the color of visible light you'd see from a black body at infinite temperature. A black body is a theoretical concept in physics: an object that would absorb all radiation that falls into it without reflecting any. It does, however, emit radiation along the electromagnetic spectrum.

You've heard 'red hot' and as things get hotter they start to glow yellow and even hotter they shift towards a blue glow. The amount of each wavelength of radiant energy that would be produced is described by Planck's Law, and you can use that to figure out what color light an object of a certain temperature is going to be.
The curved line inside this chromaticity diagram shows the Planckian locus.
We go even more in depth about the beanie and every other item in our current box with the CURIOSITY QUARTERLY magazine that comes with each box!
