I have a weird habit.
I look at everything I carry and ask one question. Does this actually earn its place?
Not "is it cool." Not "was it expensive." Does it earn the space it takes up every single day.
Most stuff fails that test pretty fast. The knife you never open. The cards you haven't touched since 2019. The charger you forgot you had. You're hauling around a bunch of things that are just along for the ride.
That question is literally why Dango exists.
Before we build anything, I ask it. Does this earn a spot in someone's pocket every day for years? If yes, we build it like a real tool. Machined from metal. Held to tight tolerances. Built to work the same on day 2,000 as day one.
If it doesn't clear that bar, we don't make it. We've killed plenty of things for exactly that reason. You'll never see them. Good.
What you end up with isn't more gear. It's less. A few things that work perfectly instead of a drawer full of things that work okay. The highest compliment a tool can get is that you stop thinking about it. It just does its job.
Every single thing we make has to clear that bar. No exceptions.
