TOP TIPS FOR GALLERY WALLS
Three hacks for hanging art
So you are interested in hanging art at home, but getting started feels daunting? Check out these expert tips for getting your art up on the wall.
Tip 1: Ace the spacing
We recommend spacing frames 5-10cm apart. Start with a 5cm space between frames and expand from there to find the right look for your space. Lean them against the wall and take a step back to get a sense of how it will look. If your space is smaller, you can shrink the space between, but not to less than 3cm.
Tip 2: Get the height right
A good rule is to place the centre of your gallery wall around 145cm above the floor. If you're hanging above a bed or sofa, frames should hang at least 15cm above the furniture.
Tip 3: Plan your layout with paper
Ok, listen up, because this trick is guaranteed to solve all of your gallery wall dramas! First, take the sheets of paper that come inside your frames, and use these as a template for planning your layout. Then, arrange them on your wall using tape so that you can easily make adjustments and get things just how you want them!
