Even after exploring so many incredible corners of the world, South Africa is a destination that always stays with me. It’s one of those special places where you can genuinely have it all – the energy of a city, world-class wine regions, delicious cuisine, fascinating culture, beautiful beaches and, of course, the magic of safari.
Safari is one of the most memorable experiences of my travels. There’s something so grounding about being out in the wilderness, watching the world wake up around you. It’s raw, unpredictable, and a complete contrast to everyday life, and there's nothing quite like returning from a game drive to a beautiful lodge, a delicious meal and a night beneath an endless African sky.
I know South Africa is sometimes a destination people put off, imagining it has to mean long journeys, challenging adventures or a packed itinerary, but the reality is very different. With carefully chosen five-star hotels, the finest experiences and the support of our Concierge Team, exploring South Africa can be effortless, luxurious and tailored around you.
I wanted to reintroduce you to some of my favourite South Africa journeys – each offering something completely different – and give them the moment they deserve.

Cape Town, Winelands and Wildlife |

A journey that captures the very best of South Africa’s Western Cape. It starts in the “Mother City”, where mountain meets ocean and every corner seems to reveal another postcard-worthy view. Wander the V&A Waterfront, ride the cable car to the top of Table Mountain, or simply enjoy the atmosphere of this effortlessly cool city.
From here, swap city energy for the slower pace of the Cape Winelands, where historic estates, world-class cuisine and rolling vineyards set the scene for long lunches and delicious tastings. Your adventure then takes you into the wild landscapes of the Little Karoo and along the coast to Hermanus, where private reserves, marine life and some of South Africa’s most spectacular scenery await.
With luxury stays at One&Only Cape Town, Babylonstoren, Sanbona Wildlife Reserve and Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, this is South Africa at its most beautiful – a little bit of city, a little bit of safari, and a whole lot of soul.

Grootbos Private Nature Reserve
★★★★★
|
Perched between fynbos-covered hills and the whale-rich waters of Walker Bay, Grootbos is unlike anywhere else in South Africa. Home to one of the world's richest floral kingdoms, it pairs extraordinary nature with understated luxury. Horse ride through ancient forests, spot southern right whales in season, then return to suites where the views are every bit as memorable as the adventures. |

There's something magical about your first safari, and Sanbona is a special place to experience it. This vast, private, and malaria-free reserve offers intimate game drives across dramatic Little Karoo landscapes, where the Big Five roam alongside giraffe, cheetah and countless other species. With fewer vehicles than many larger parks, every wildlife encounter feels personal.

A balanced South African escape that combines the buzz of Cape Town, the thrill of safari and the blissful beaches of Mauritius – proving you really can have the best of every world.
Start beneath the shadow of Table Mountain in Constantia, South Africa’s oldest wine-producing region, where vineyards, exceptional restaurants and Cape Town’s charm set the tone for your adventure.
Then it’s time for the moment many travellers dream of: safari. Head into the wilderness of Kapama Private Game Reserve, bordering the legendary Kruger National Park, where days begin with sunrise game drives in search of the Big Five, and end beneath unpolluted African skies.
After the excitement of the wild, slow the pace right down with a week at The Residence Mauritius. Think powder-white beaches, turquoise lagoons, and plenty of time to simply switch off.
