The honest version of how we run Discount Supplements

Hey there,

Someone asked me recently what it's like running Discount Supplements. I started giving the polished answer, then stopped.

I didn't walk into co-owning this business from a boardroom. I walked in from the gym floor. I got involved because I cared about what people were putting in their bodies, and I wasn't impressed with what most of the industry was selling them.

There's no corner office here. There's a warehouse, a team that knows each other's kids' names, and decisions made on the floor. Discount Supplements has been employee-owned for 20 years. The people packing your order and choosing what we stock all have skin in the game.

The part most people don't expect is how personal the stocking decisions are.

I lift. Most of our team does too. So when a new brand hits the table, we're not reading a pitch deck. We're asking whether we'd actually use it.

That's how Blood & Guts got on the shelf. We'd used it, we knew what Dorian Yates stood for, and we knew a serious pre-workout at that price would change things. Same with Xtra Whey. Customers told us premium protein was pricing them out of staying consistent. So we built one that didn't.

And there's plenty we've turned down. Under-dosed actives. 80% flavouring, 20% filler. If it wouldn't earn a place in our own stack, it doesn't earn a place on the shelf.

When you order from Discount Supplements, you're ordering from people who've stood in front of a wall of tubs wondering which one's actually worth the money.

Who've trained at 6am, cut on a budget, and been asked by a mate whether the cheap creatine is the same as the expensive one. (Usually yes. Sometimes no. We'll be straight either way.)

Anything you want a straight answer on, what to stack, what to skip, what's worth it, hit reply. I read these.

Cheers,

Adam
