A tourist at a hotel in the Dolomites was charged $8 for tap water on New Year's Eve, took it to court, and lost. Italy's highest court has officially ruled that hotels have no legal obligation to give you free tap water. I know from experience that water is rarely just offered in Italy, and you have to ask for it, but damn, paying for tap water is CRAZY.

World of Hyatt Is Slicing 25% Off Stays – Here's Where to Book

World of Hyatt just announced 25% off hotel stays around the world, and you know my two scrolling fingers haven’t let up since. My friends didn't ask in the group chat I just created for a summer trip, but I know they won’t complain too much with over 800 hotels to choose from. This is going to be the travel version of standing in front of a full closet and feeling like you have nothing to wear. But that's the fun of it. 

If you’re not a World of Hyatt member, joining is free, and signing up will get you access to the deal at over 800 hotels worldwide. Booking windows vary by region, so if you're eyeing continents like Europe or Africa, you have until July 31. For the US, Caribbean, and Latin America, you need to book by June 30. 

Hotels I’ve already sent to my group chat: 

🇫🇷 Hôtel du Palais Biarritz — a historic palace hotel on the Atlantic coast, originally built for Empress Eugénie, who was married to Napoleon III. It doesn't get more dramatic or historic than that. If you want some recs for the beach destination, here’s my list of saves.

🇮🇹 Park Hyatt Milan — sitting in the heart of Milan, steps from the Duomo, this is the kind of hotel that makes you feel like you have a royal title. Truly luxurious but never stuffy, the kind of place where the sheets are so good you have a hard time getting out of bed.

🇲🇽 The Cape, A Thompson Hotel, Cabo San Lucas — cliffside, infinity pool, Sea of Cortez stretching out in front of you. I can promise you you will not be checking your email here. 

🌺 Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa — Hawaii is always an immediate ‘yes’. 40 acres on Ka'anapali Beach with pools, waterslides, a spa, and sunsets that could be a year to your eye. I’d book it before you talk yourself out of it.

A New Alaska Airlines Lounge Just Landed in Portland

If you're a Pacific Northwesterner or just someone who gets unreasonably excited about a good airport lounge, Alaska Airlines is opening a brand new lounge at Portland Airport in Oregon. It's twice the size of the old one, and by the look of it, a space you wouldn't mind spending hours in.

The new lounge is 14,000 square feet, fits over 200 people, has a fireplace, a massive Mt. Hood mural, barista drinks, regionally inspired food, and privacy booths for when you need to take a call and pretend you're not at an airport. Speaking from experience, of course.

The Portland lounge is part of an $18 million investment, which means Alaska is not done yet. A 41,000 square foot lounge is coming to Seattle in 2027, plus new spots in San Diego and Honolulu in early 2028. If you fly the West Coast regularly, Alaska Lounge membership gets you into eight lounges across the Alaska and Hawaiian network, and Lounge+ unlocks 90 partner lounges all acorss the world. Definitely worth looking into if airports are your third space, as they are mine. Lol.

Answer: D! If I weren't the one who made it up, that one could've easily fooled me. Monaco is too pretty for an ATM to exist and stick out like a sore thumb, but they do.
