Sometimes I see travel hacks that are so bizarre, I can’t help but wonder why people are going through all the extra effort. This one and this one have got to be two of the most unnecessary “travel hacks” I’ve seen out there.
My best travel hack? Don’t make your life harder than it needs to be.
In today’s edition:
-
Going to Europe? You've been warned
-
Uber expands offerings ahead of World Cup

A Warning for Travelers Headed to Europe This Summer
|
|
I’m sorry to start this newsletter out on a sour note, but I think a warning is due for those of you traveling to Europe this summer. Unfortunately, you’ll need to expect delays and build more time into your schedule. Here’s what's happening.
Even though the European Union’s new Entry/Exit System, or EES, is supposed to eventually make it a lot smoother and quicker to move through border control, the kinks are still being worked out.
At the airports where the technology is fully rolled out, it seems to be operating quite nicely, but, because of an uneven rollout, some airports are less equipped than others. Some of the locations are still relying heavily on manual processing, and it’s causing more delays.
Portugal is being hit particularly hard with EES lines. On top of that, they are also facing a huge strike that could disrupt hundreds of European flights in June.
Other airports you should definitely build in extra time for are Milan, Brussels, the UK, and Madrid. With summer already being a busy travel period, this is annoying to say the least, but just remember to stay calm, arrive early, and make the most out of those lounges if you have a good travel card in your wallet.

What If Cravings Aren’t Your Fault?
|
|
Did you hear about the group of PhD scientists from Johns Hopkins, Harvard, and Stanford who
walked into a lab—and left with a breakthrough probiotic in hand?
These scientists zeroed in on one of the most beneficial strains for gut health, Akkermansia
muciniphila. They figured out how to bring live Akkermansia muciniphila to the probiotics market.
The final result of their work? Pendulum’s Metabolic Daily probiotic.
This particular strain is so groundbreaking because it can help strengthen gut lining, improve
metabolic and digestive health, and support natural GLP-1 signaling pathways.* Users report:
With more than 15k medical provider recommendations, 4.5k mentions of Akkermansia
muciniphila in scientific publications, and loyal customers like Halle Berry, this stuff sure sounds
promising.
Try Metabolic Daily probiotic yourself and take 48% off. HSA/FSA eligible.

Uber Expands Offerings Ahead of the World Cup
|
|
The World Cup kicks off in just ten days, and I can barely contain my excitement! Uber is getting in on the action and helping fans travel to and from the pitch with more affordable shuttle rides and van rentals.
The rideshare company is offering shuttle services from stadiums in New York-New Jersey, Boston, and Dallas so fans can get home more easily. In Miami, the shuttles will be available to and from the venues. (I’m a bit disappointed this offer is not available in LA, but I guess I’m happy for everyone else.)
In order to get a slot on the Uber Shuttle, you’ll want to book a seat in advance, even as late as the day of the match. Click the shuttle icon in the app, and you’ll pay a flat fare. In Miami, Dallas, and Boston, rides are $45, and in New York-New Jersey, they are $49. Once you pay, you’ll receive a QR code that you’ll use to board the shuttle at the meeting point.
If you’re watching a match in a city that doesn’t offer the shuttle service, like Seattle or Atlanta, you can still use Uber to hitch a ride. The app will now provide turn-by-turn directions in the app to guide people to the most efficient pick-up spots from the stadium.
If you’re traveling in a big group, Uber Max might be the best move. You can book a 14-seater van to and from the Venue in New York, Miami, and LA. Vans will be available to book for up to eight hours.
Good luck (and go Bosnia)!
