Well, sad news for all of you who have “humanlike robots” because they have been banned on Southwest flights, along with any “animal-like” robots.
The ban was put into effect due to concerns about lithium batteries, but I would have banned them just due to sheer creepiness levels.

✈️ What are the expectations?
If you’re selected as the Global Charisma Scout, you’ll be tasked with traveling around Europe for eight weeks and talking to strangers.
You’ll have to start conversations with strangers in cafes, bars, lines, and other public areas, all the while documenting the interactions. All the info will be used to create a ranking of Europe’s most talkative cities.

There is no closing date on the application, but we recommend applying as soon as possible. You’ll need to submit a three to four-minute video explaining why you’d be the best Global Charisma Scout and which city you’d be most excited to explore. Make sure you include links to at least two different social media profiles as well.
If you are hired, you’ll need to be okay with traveling around Europe for two months, but all your flights, hotels, and experiences are fully covered. Plus, you’ll receive a monthly stipend of around $3,000 per month.

Passport Renewals Might Look Different Soon
|

About once a year, I panic that my passport is expiring, even though it has a good seven more years on it before it expires. It’s just one of those things that are easy to forget about and then can expire right when you need it the most.
So, consider this your annual reminder to check your passport's expiration date and get ahead of a renewal if you need one. Luckily, the State Department is now offering new online renewal options and expedited turnaround time.
Definitely don’t leave your renewal to the last minute. The faster you need your passport, the more you’ll have to pay. Even with the new renewal offerings, you’ll still need to leave at least a three-month window open for the renewal.
If you happen to be renewing this year, you can expect some fancier packaging as well as a certificate of authenticity. Secretary of State Marco Rubio explained, “When you open this passport box, you will find that there is a certificate attached to it, which is like a certificate of authenticity, as we do with watches and stuff like that and jewelry.” It feels a bit unnecessary to me, but the part I am excited about is that you will eventually be able to take your passport photo online.
Soon you’ll be able to use your phone or laptop camera to complete your passport photo and application—saving you the trouble of having to go somewhere to get those awkwardly sized passport photos. There’s no word yet on when that would actually go into effect, but let’s hope it cuts down the turnaround time for travelers significantly.

When is Upgrading to Business Class Worth the Price?

When choosing between business and economy class, the decision usually boils down to cost versus comfort. Economy is budget-friendly and provides standard services, while business offers premium perks like spacious seating, gourmet meals, and priority services – but at a much higher price.
Business class tickets typically cost three to five times more than economy, but for long-haul flights, the cost is often worth the comfort.
💺 So when is it worth it to upgrade?
Frequent flyers with loyalty program memberships typically get the best upgrade deals. If you have elite status, you might score discounted upgrades. For instance, Alaska Airlines offers first-class upgrades starting at $29 and going up to $199, depending on the flight’s distance.
Another common method is bidding for upgrades. Many airlines now use bidding systems, with minimum bids usually set between $100 and $150. The final price depends on factors like demand and availability. For international flights, American Airlines charges a mix of cash and miles – upgrading to business class for a trip to Europe, for example, might cost $350 plus 25,000 AAdvantage miles.
If you’re flexible, last-minute upgrades can be a great way to save. When airlines adjust schedules and premium seats open up, they often offer discounted upgrades. Keep an eye on online portals or contact the airline close to your departure time to snag these deals.
Using miles for upgrades is another efficient option. It usually costs fewer miles to upgrade than to book a business class ticket outright. However, policies vary by airline. For example, while Delta allows SkyMiles upgrades on award tickets, American Airlines and United don’t permit upgrades on mileage bookings.
Just remember, every flight will be different, and choosing whether or not to upgrade ultimately comes down to your budget and how much you’re willing to pay for the perks being offered.
