Hotel restaurants have an iffy reputation for overpriced plates and sad continental breakfasts, but OpenTable's 2026 list of the top 100 hotel restaurants in America shows that the stereotype might be outdated. According to their research, 60% of summer travelers say they booked a hotel specifically because of its restaurant.
I can’t even wrap my head around that large percentage because I thought a restaurant on property would be an afterthought, but hey, to each their own!

United's Latest Upgrade Keeps Passengers Out Of Middle Seats
|

Other airlines should take notes from United Airlines, as the airline just announced it is redesigning its middle seat to give passengers extra space and elbow room. Good, because we’re all tired of the squeeze.
Here’s what’s interesting: United is turning the middle seat into a table. Starting with its 50 new Airbus A321XLR jets, certain rows in Economy Plus will replace the middle seat with a fixed table that stretches across the row, giving window and aisle passengers what United calls "extra space to stretch out on longer international flights." It’s officially the first US carrier to offer this seating design. Good on ya, United!
We middle-seat warriors have waited years for someone, anyone, to acknowledge our suffering. The new Economy Plus seats add three inches of legroom over standard Economy, and the middle-seat table gives the window and aisle passengers back the space a shared armrest usually costs them.
Pricing for these upgraded middle seats hasn’t been set, but the seats go on sale later this year, starting with domestic A321XLR flights this fall before the aircraft moves to international routes in early 2027. Big win for the window and aisle seats, who no longer have to share armrest custody with a stranger who claims both.

Why Flights Get Cheaper 3 Weeks Before Departure
|
|
It's not wrong to assume that waiting to book flights will save you money, but the data says otherwise. Flight prices typically start climbing within the final 21 days before departure, and booking within the last two weeks can add $75 to $200 to fares. There is one exception that shows up on competitive domestic routes during slower travel periods, where airlines sometimes cut prices around three weeks out to fill empty seats.
That exception comes down to how airlines manage unsold inventory. Seats are split into fare classes, and when the cheaper classes sell out, travelers get pushed towards pricier ones. If bookings are slow, airlines will sometimes reopen those lower-priced classes to fill the plane, which is what creates the occasional late-window discount, and it's exactly the window I’ve gotten lucky with a few times, booking one-way tickets during that low-fare stretch from LA to the East Coast.
