My mom is the one who taught me how to play pool, how to bake the best banana bread, and how to make friends.
She coached my basketball team, she taught me the value of a dollar, and she inspired me to be an entrepreneur.
My mom has always cheered me on in everything I've ever done (she was one of the first 40 people to buy Million Dollar Year, even though she was the last person in the world to need it!).
I have learned so many lessons over the years from my mom, but the most important one of all is the permission that she gave me to be strong.
She wins golf tournaments left and right.
She smokes me at pickleball every time we play.
She knows her way around a chainsaw.
She is the top real estate broker in her town, and she runs a real estate office that she started from scratch.
My mom is the definition of competent. You could give her any problem to solve, and she would find a way. She’s resourceful, creative, and has a work ethic like no one I know.
I’m telling you all of this - (yes, because it’s almost Mother’s Day and I’ll take every excuse to tribute the amazing woman that my mom is, but also…) because we need more examples of strong women+ right now so that we can remember what we’re capable of.
Whether you’re climbing your way out of debt, taking care of kids as a single mom, or just showing up and getting by (because that’s all you can handle right now) - you are so strong.
Maybe you’re learning financial literacy for the first time at 60+, managing money on your own after divorce, or finally facing the truth of what’s in your bank account - if that’s you, I want to remind you that YOU are so strong.
Or maybe you’re switching careers, becoming a mom, or nearing retirement. Whoever you are, whatever you’re facing, I want you to remember that you are more capable than you think you are, you can handle whatever comes at you, and you are strong beyond belief.
I'm rooting for you the same way my mom has always rooted for me — with everything I've got. You've got this.
With love,
Britt
