You know, -...

There’s something addicting about the feeling I get when I achieve a health goal.

If you’ve tried my Bone Broth Diet or done a cleanse & reset with me, you know the feeling I’m talking about.

You’ve stuck with it!

You’re proud of yourself, you feel fabulous, and you look AMAZING!

But… now what?

What happens when you finish the program?

How can you maintain your big wins?

Our community member Renee has an idea. Check out her story:

“Day 21 for me—I made it!

I lost 13 lbs and 3” off my waist and 4” off my hips.

My skin cleared up—I’ve had acne since I was a kid off and on.

I can see my cheekbones again!

And I feel so much younger with the discomfort gone and not achy all the time.

Moving onto the 80/20 for the holidays!”

Renee is awesome, and she has the right answer to the question:

“What do I do now?”

You’ve probably heard me talk about the 80/20 plan, but I want to break down how 80/20 works:

The hallmark of 80/20 is that it allows you some “personal play” while still keeping you toned and healthy.

For instance:

You can indulge in pasta and wine on date night or pop some popcorn for a Sunday afternoon movie, and still feel confident and healthy. (I like to call these “fairy dust!”)

On this plan, at least 80% of your diet should be healthy, low-carb foods—the same “yes” foods you ate on the Bone Broth Diet or the 10-Day Belly Slimdown.

But then you get to fill the other 20% with those super fun, higher-carb, “fairy-dust”foods!

My favorite thing about this plan is that it lets you enjoy life without gaining back those pounds and wrinkles.

I like to say you get 100% of the results with only 80% of the work!

When you eat right 80% of the time, your body is so vibrant and healthy that it can easily handle a little sin once in a while.

Not to mention when you make collagen a priority, your skin bounces back just like it did in your twenties!

How great is that?

One big caution, however: 80/20 doesn’t mean going back to the way you used to eat.

Think about the consequences of that lifestyle:

bloated belly

dull skin

no energy.

Who wants to go back to that?

Instead, 80/20 means continuing your new healthy eating habits, exercising, and doing stress-reducing activities, all while sprinkling a little “fairy dust” on your diet.

Look at it like this:

Dr. Kellyann

There you have it—that’s all there is to the 80/20 Plan! Follow the diet template 80% of the time, and sprinkle on some fairy dust on the remaining 20%.

Just watch out for a few tricky foods like gluten and dairy, and limit how much you indulge your sweet tooth.

That said, I strongly recommend you save most of your fairy-dust foods for one or two days a week.

It’s all too easy to get in the habit of reaching for that 3 PM muffin every day, but if you do you’re going to see your energy tank and take your waistline with it.

By just being mindful and aware of what you’re putting into your body, you will see game-changing results to your health, your energy, your skin, and your life.

No, it’s not magic—it’s maintenance.

So if you’ve just come off my Bone Broth Diet or Cleanse and shattered your goals, I recommend making a seamless transition into 80/20, so you can keep those pounds and wrinkles from sneaking back into your life.

Besides, I think you’re going to love this plan MORE than your old way of eating, because you can enjoy the foods you love and still keep the slim, beautiful belly you worked so hard to get.

You’ll feel young, vibrant, and energetic every day.

It’s like having your cake and (occasionally) eating it too!!

Speaking of cake, at the end of this email, I’ve given you two of my favorite recipes for both cake AND pie!

Now, doesn’t that sound fabulous?

Sending you my big Italian kiss,

Dr. Kellyann

PS. There are a couple of things I want you to remember when transitioning from 100% Bone Broth Diet, to 80/20 maintenance.

First, as you reintroduce foods, I want you to pay close attention to how your body reacts to them.

When you do this, you’ll learn a lot about how specific foods affect your health, your mood, your skin, and your weight.

Second, don’t over-indulge in sugary foods.

Honey, molasses, maple syrup, coconut sugar, and stevia are all okay in limited amounts, but don’t go crazy eating sweet foods, or you’ll be inviting the Sugar Demon right back into your life.

A great list of “yes” and “no” foods and a deeper dive into the 80/20 concept are right here, on my website!

Hot tip: Alternating slices of russet potato and sweet potato on the Shepherd’s Pie creates a pretty topping for this rustic dish!
