If you’ve ever felt compelled to hit the road in a home on wheels, you’re not alone—the lifestyle has reached obsession status ever since #vanlife started trending. But building a mobile home from scratch? That’s a whole new level of dedication.

Meet Daisy, the DIY aluminum camper Josh Morrow and Chanelle Nibbelink pieced together atop a 2010 Toyota Tundra. They spent months welding and tinkering in Josh’s parents’ driveway to build their adventuremobile, which cost about $40K in materials (including the truck). “It’s more like a sailboat than a house, Josh says. “If you’re designing a house, you’ve got to think about wind loads—but when you’re designing a camper, you have sustained 70-mile-an-hour winds all the time.”

Now that it’s complete, the nomadic couple are seeking out surf breaks, climbing crags, and hot springs across the States. As Josh puts it, “Having a wilderness experience every single day is the goal.” All aboard!
