You Are Not An Imposter (Shut Up, Brain) Let's talk about the lie you tell yourself every single day: that you're one Zoom call away from being exposed as a total fraud.Amy Poehler said it best: "You will never climb Career Mountain and get to the top and shout, 'I made it!' You will rarely feel done or complete or even successful. Most people I know struggle with that complicated soup of feeling slighted on one hand and like a total fraud on the other."Relatable? Devastatingly. Here's the thing about imposter syndrome: it's basically your brain convincing you that you're a criminal mastermind who somehow fooled an entire industry into thinking you're competent. Like you pulled off an Ocean's Eleven-level heist just by... doing your job. You didn't con anyone. You just forgot to give yourself credit, because apparently that's easier than believing you're actually good at something. Next time that "they're going to find out I have no idea what I'm doing" loop starts, say it out loud. Seeing it in writing instantly makes it look as unhinged as it actually is. And when the negative thoughts show up uninvited (they will, they're annoying like that), don't argue with them. Just ask: is this thought helping me, or just here to ruin my Tuesday? So here's how you tell your brain to sit down: Observe it, don't marry it. Notice the thought, acknowledge it exists, and move on like you would a stranger's opinion on the subway. Fake the confidence until it's annoyingly real. Act like you belong there, because you do. Your brain's just late to the party. Reframe failure as data, not a personality trait. One bad meeting doesn't undo four years of being good at your job. You didn't luck your way here. You didn't trick anyone. You worked, you learned, you showed up, and somehow your brain still wants a redo on all of it. Not today. You earned this. Sit in it. We got this,Team EBY
