Light Brown Sugar for a Finer and Gentler Scrub
The granules in sugar are smaller than salt which makes them a better choice to exfoliate sensitive skin. We choose to use brown sugar for a few reasons. In order to be refined, white sugar undergoes a chemical process whereas brown sugar is never exposed to these types of chemicals. Brown sugar is rich in molasses that nourishes the skin with Vitamin B.
Sugar is rich with glycolic acid. You will likely see glycolic acid on the labels of a wide variety of skincare products. It’s derived from sugar. The main benefit of glycolic acid is that it’s great for exfoliating the skin. In addition to cleansing the skin of dead skin cells, glycolic acid has anti-aging and anti-acne properties. We like to keep our ingredients lists simple so that’s why we use light brown sugar (for a host of benefits) rather than adding the raw chemical. Plus, we stray away from making any active ingredient too strong.
Packed with Moisture to Counteract Dry Skin
Our Eczema Honey Brown Sugar Body Scrub treats the body with both a physical and chemical process of exfoliation. The sugar granules can sweep away larger rough skin while glycolic acid works over time. Both types of exfoliating can leave the skin dry. We pack our body scrubs with moisturizing ingredients to counteract this including Vitamin E Oil, Olive Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Beeswax, Honey, and Colloidal Oatmeal. Unlike other body scrubs that leave skin raw and bare, this scrub will make your skin feel like new again.
