Sandra Govers for ELLIS FAAS

It was always Ellis' biggest wish to inspire others to discover their own personal path. This is why ELLIS FAAS has embarked on a series of collaborations with makeup artists who definitely have their own visual language, and who want to pass on whatever inspires them. The second collaboration that we are very proud to share is with Sandra Govers from the Netherlands.

“Everything I do comes from any imaginable emotion”, Sandra says. “Having colours and textures as my tools, I try to translate those feelings into something visual on the model’s face. This is actually something that I got from Ellis, who told me that I should dare to let go of the technique, and instead should trust myself, follow my instinct and not be deterred by people who think they know better. Ellis taught me how I still approach makeup, when she said ‘Makeup is poetry: it doesn’t have to be beautiful, it has to feel beautiful.’ I can only hope that I will pass on that inspiration to others.”
