July is Lost Pet Month

One of a pet owner's biggest fears is losing their beloved companion.  For those that use an ESA, a lost pet can have profound implications. Here are a few tips to prevent your pet from becoming separated from you, along with some of our products that help prevent it. Additionally, this product will help you reunite if it happens despite your best efforts.

• Keep your dog on a leash at all times when outside.  We offer leashes for small dogs and large dogs.  Don't forget a harness or collar to attach it to.
• Your dog should wear a collar with an ID tag attached.
• If you have a yard of your own, take time throughout the year to walk the perimeter of your yard and check your fence for any broken slats, gaps, or weaknesses and have them repaired.
• If you have people coming in and out of your house throughout the day, make sure everyone is familiar with the rules around letting your dog out, so he can't slip out accidentally.
• Use our specialized ID product.  When you purchase our ID, you are also registered in our system.  If your dog is ever lost while wearing our ID, a person who finds your dog can use the ID to contact you via our database service.  ID is also handy to have.  It helps you answer questions anytime you are out with your ESA, whether it is a walk around your apartment complex, or the airport.  Our ID is available as a stand-alone purchase, or in one of our money-saving kits.  We also offer mini-size ID cards.
