What would you do if you were me???

Looks simple enough, right?  But it's been over a year in the making.

And what is it?  It's new packaging for our laundry detergent, inspired by 100% paper sugar or flour bags.

There's no plastic OR glue whatsoever - just paper. 

And we're planning to close it with cotton thread, just like a potato bag you might buy in the grocery store.

But there's a catch.  Because there's no plastic liner (our current bags have a bio-plastic biodegradable liner) there will be some 'sweating' on the bag, like the grease marks you might see if you buy chip truck french fries in a paper bag.  

It doesn't impact performance at all and it won't impact the shelf life.

So when it comes to online sales, I don't think it's a big deal, but my question to you is, would you be put off if you saw that on a grocery store shelf?

You see, most laundry powders come in 'faux cardboard boxes'.  And I say 'faux', because they have a plastic coating on them that makes it next to impossible to recycle or compost. 

But they look real pretty and they don't 'sweat'.

Some companies get around this by putting their powder in a tin or aluminum, and even though that can be recycled, those tins are almost always 'virgin' metal (the recycled stuff usually goes into airplanes and things like that) and aluminum smelting is nasty.

So my question to you is would you be put off if you saw a 'sweaty' laundry detergent bag on the shelf in your local grocery store?
