Hey there,

Have you ever tried burning your used coffee grounds? Me neither 😅

As you can imagine, we get through bucket loads of used coffee grounds in my house, so I’m always on the lookout for fun ways to use them.

My fave is making an exfoliating coffee scrub and I shared a few other ideas in my blog.

But the new one doing the rounds is burning them to repel mosquitoes!

It may have gone viral on social media, but experts think it could just be the smoke repelling them, not the coffee itself. Read their thoughts and suggestions in this new article.

In 25 recreational runners, adding quick brain tasks before a run improved mile times by c.2%, with lower heart rate and perceived effort. Likely because you're preparing yourself mentally to perform!

Exercise didn’t directly make everyone more generous in a new study, but people who felt more energised after a moderate cycling session showed more prosocial behaviour afterwards. Another reason to choose movement that you actually enjoy!

Spending time in nature was linked to greater self-compassion, body appreciation and life satisfaction across 50K people in 58 countries. There were outliers and no proven cause and effect, but it’s a great read on why getting outside helps quiet the mental noise.

Each extra daytime nap hour linked to 13% higher mortality risk

In new research on older adults, longer and more frequent daytime naps were linked to higher all-cause mortality (risk of death from any cause).

But there was no increased risk if naps were under 1 hour so a 20 minute power-nap is still on the table if that's your bag!
