Falky filled his October calendar with exciting dates long ago: birthday, treasure hunt, costume workshop, Halloween. The Autumn Holidays falls right in the middle of it all, and that's no coincidence – each of these dates is part of the weekly programmes at the Falkensteiner family hotels.

And in between, surprises await that aren't on the programme at all. One of them is reserved for the parents: a retreat in the Acquapura SPA, where relaxation comes first.

In October, the Falkensteiner family hotels have a dedicated birthday programme on the agenda. Add to that the Funtastic Weekends, Happy Kiddos Weekends for the youngest guests, and the Halloween Specials at the end of the month. Three weekends with a set programme and plenty of room for your own ideas.

From treasure hunters to explorers

By ten o'clock, the room is empty. The school-age children head off as Falkons, trying out new sports and negotiating the rules for the next game along the way.

The Falkies find exactly what they need in the Babyland and Falkyland. The academies offer riding lessons, workshops and creative sessions – and at selected properties, Woom Bikes are now available, from a first attempt in the saddle to the Bike Academy as part of the weekly programme.

And you?
You gain an entire afternoon.

Falky is quite clear on this: one afternoon always remains free. He insists on it. And he'd very much like the same for you.

This is how the whole afternoon becomes yours.

While the children have their programme, the Acquapura SPA grows warm and wonderfully quiet. Steam room, relaxation room, a cup of tea by the window – two or three hours that belong entirely to you.

The story that gets told in the evenin

Your child comes back to the room in the evening and talks without stopping: about a cave, a stick that was actually a magic wand. You, meanwhile, spent time in the Acquapura SPA, then in the relaxation room, and were in no hurry with either.

Falky, for his part, has been counting. In July he gave up at eighty towels; this morning there were seven, and one of them has been lying unused at the poolside for two hours. He sits on the wall, legs dangling, waiting for someone to finally jump into the water – along the Adriatic and in southern Italy it stays pleasantly warm well into October, so it's not entirely unlikely.

Later, he moves further north. In Austria and South Tyrol, the slopes changed colour overnight – yellow, rust, and a few stubborn trees in between that are still refusing to turn. Falky lands on a signpost and watches as the sun disappears behind the red, gold and brown mountains.
