Family history research projects often get pushed aside during the summer as outside activities like visits to the zoo, amusement parks, and lazy days by the beach rightly take precedence over trips to the library at this time of year. This month, however, as students return to school you may have started thinking about a return to your genealogy research. My favorite from this list of genealogy projects for August is to virtually visit an ancestor’s hometown or country of origin. But before you can visit your immigrant ancestor’s hometown – either virtually or IRL – you need to know where it is.
