Sometimes, the holiday feeling can begin long before you arrive. This year, swap busy roads and long car journeys for a more relaxed way to travel.

Settle into your assigned seat, watch the scenery change out the window and leave the traffic behind. Many of our peaceful farm stays are within easy reach of public transport, close to a well-connected train station, followed by just a short taxi or bus journey.

You could escape to Heydon Grove in Norfolk within a couple of hours, head west to Billingsmoor Farm in Devon, around 15 minutes from Tiverton Parkway with great connections, or travel to Treganhoe Farm in Cornwall in less than 4 hours from London. It's just a short four miles from Penzance station, with a local bus option too. For a truly special arrival that you'll all remember, head to Fountain Violet Farm via a steam train from Paignton to Kingswear station, the farmer will then pick you up on arrival!
